About the Project

Project Mantrana is a community-based mental health initiative by ACT that addresses the unique emotional, social and psychological challenges faced by Adivasi adolescents and youth (ages 10–24) in Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

The programme focuses on building emotional resilience, fostering safe and supportive spaces, and empowering young people to navigate challenges related to identity, peer relationships, gender dynamics, education and future aspirations.

Through group workshops, creative expression, peer support networks and life-skills sessions, Project Mantrana equips youth with healthy coping strategies, emotional awareness and problem-solving skills.

The initiative also works closely with parents, community leaders and local champions to reduce stigma around mental health and create an enabling environment that nurtures youth wellbeing and agency.

Key Objectives

  • Build emotional resilience and self-awareness among adolescents.
  • Destigmatize mental health through community workshops.
  • Establish peer-led support circles across remote hamlets.
